* Victor Chinnery author of the book "Oak Furniture", published in 1979 wrote: "The longest single plank table top known to the present writer was recently rediscovered at Cefn Mabli, having probably originated in nearby Tredegar Park. It is now in a sadly mutilated state, but was recorded in 1908 as being 42 feet long". It was photographed at the time, it had 14 legs of which 10 were turned and 4 chamfered.
